Mozart Week Music Festival:

Salzburg | Jan. 27 – Feb 6, 2012

I've spent decades listening to and reviewing classical music recordings. But for all the inspired performances I’ve heard, nothing compares to the thrill of a fantastic live performance. With this in mind, I invite you to join me for a week of the very best: the Mozart Week music festival, an annual commemoration of Mozart's birth.

The concerts feature a who's who of the world's musicians performing in the splendid halls of Salzburg, Austria, amidst a picture of wintry elegance. Although the music of Mozart is central, the festival concerts will feature the music of Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Debussy, and others.

This year marked my third visit to the festival, hosting a small international group of music lovers--it was superb. Everything combined for a sumptuous whole: stellar concerts, stunning locations, and the absence of hordes of summer tourists. We enjoyed many stimulating conversations over glasses of crisp wine and robust beer.

Our central Salzburg hotel allows easy access to concerts, restaurants, museums, and of course the mountains which surround the city. Join us for an unparalleled musical experience!
