Our long weekend NYC musical tour features one concert with the New York Philharmonic in music by Beethoven and Stravinsky. There’s also an all-Sibelius concert with the touring Vienna Philharmonic in Carnegie Hall, under conductor Lorin Maazel, who has had a relationship with NYC dating back to 1942.

Also offered is a small, private coach tour of the city with an informed guide, a pre-concert dinner, as well as my usual informal chats covering concert repertoire and city options. Our return tour includes one concert with the famed Chicago Symphony Orchestra featuring music by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Debussy under guest conductor Trevor Pinnock. We will also hear a solo piano recital at Orchestra Hall with the wonderful English pianist Stephen Hough in music by Beethoven, Liszt and Scriabin.

Also offered will be the architectural tour of the city from the river, a must for any Chicago visitor.  In addition, we’ve included a 3-day transit pass so that you can explore Chicago on your own --from our centrally located hotel, all the great attractions are easily accessible.
